Anxiety is a normal human emotion. It signifies our state of apprehension or fear in anticipation of some danger or threat, most often the threat is unrealistic and could be a result of some bad experience of past. All of us feel this emotion but in people who do not handle it properly this fear aggravates daily and may lead to panic or anxiety disorders. Panic attacks and depression are some of the most dangerous psychological complications that normal anxiety can lead to.

Subconsciously our mind tends to relate its bad experiences in maladaptive ways. It considers those experiences as benchmarks for all similar conditions of future. It is due to this reason that its response for similar situations become biased and generalized even though in reality the present situation could be entirely different from the past experience.

At the most basic level our internal whims or emotional instincts conflict with each other and result in anxiety disorder. With every encounter of such situation our brain starts sending signals to the nervous system to prepare body for the threat. As a result our entire body systems get busy in preparing itself to combat with the unseen assault.

Studies reveal that anxiety attacks causes could be genetic, biological or medical. Most of the people suffer with severe anxiety due to genetic reasons and fear runs in their family histories. 5 out of 10 anxiety disorder patients suffer due to hereditary causes.

Some medical diseases like heart problems, tumors and neurological disorders can also result in unexplained fear or anxiety. Biological factors like imbalances in the hormones and chemicals like serotonin or norepinephrine are also found to be responsible for developing anxiety disorders.

People suffering with vitamin B deficiency run a higher risk of getting affected with anxiety problems. It is vitamin B deficiency which is mainly responsible to allow adrenalin to aggravate the fear. Some people are afraid of few things from birth. Phobia like fear from crowd, fear from insects, fear from height etc all contribute in developing the anxiety disorder.
